For those who knew and worked with Marvin Harper, I have submitted him for the Missouri Veterans Hall of Fame. I need to beef-up his nomination with civic involvement examples. Brainstorming, let me know of things Marvin did or received an award for, such as:
Things he did for Barnard and NW Missouri area
4-H Leader activities or projects
Laura Street Baptist Church
Masons and 40 & 8
American Legion
Anything you can think of
---------------------------
Are you in the military currently, and completing your military service in the near future? For those who want help to file veteran's affairs claims in person, instead of online, the Missouri Veterans Commission needs better/more consistent funding from our state legislature. The Missouri Association of Veterans Organizations is having their annual gathering to see your Missouri Congressional and Senate representatives to stress:
Fully funding MVC, Stop Claim Sharks, Personal Property Tax relief for those with 100% disability, and allocating 10% of gaming funds for MVC
See attached flyer.

All Legionnaires-
You don't have to be an officer or have a committee position. The Legion has "tons" of opportunities, if you would like to help our overall mission.
The Department of Missouri will conduct a training program on April 11-13th, at Bourbon, Missouri at Camp Mihaska. Contact Commander Mark Hummer or myself if interested.
Boys State needs volunteers to run their concession stand (souvenirs & some snacks) at Lindenwood University on June 21-28. You get free room and board, plus meals. If you can help 1 or 2 days, or the entire week, any help would be awesome. Money raised is used to fund students who did not have any sponsors.
