Weston, Mo Post 501 - 2024 Boys State Recipient

Text: American Legion, Weston, Mo. Post 501 members congratulated Thomas Deffet, second from right on first row, as their sponsored representative to Boys State to be held this summer at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

Thomas Deffet is a junior at West Platte High School. He credited his world history and government teacher, Mrs. Sarah Green, teacher and high school counsellor, Mrs. Corrine Ali, for encouraging him to apply for Boys State. He has participated in track, drama and many other activities.

The American Legion Boys State of Missouri is an eight-day hands on experience in the operation and fundamentals of government. Missouri Boys State draws together the best and brightest high school juniors to help lead them down the path of individual success and leadership through "doing," not just learning.
